another le jardin
I love white space...I need to use it more often. I love leaving white space between layers of paper. A friend frequently uses white space in her cards and scrapbooking and was the influence for this card.
Supplies: LAD Le Jardin, Ink and paper and ribbon SU cool carribean, real red, chocolate chip, versamark

Le Jardin
I am loving this new set from LAD - Le Jardin. I used the sketch challenge from last week to make this card and I'm loving it. The twist was to only use two colors. I've been on an orange kick lately - do you ever get attached to colors and can't stop using them? All shades of orange have become favorites, but most especially pumpkin pie from SU. I'll add a sentiment to the bottom when it comes time to use this card. Have a good day!

I let go
Last night as I was scrapbooking, I realized I could in fact scrap "out of order." And my album won't be in order either. This is a first for me, all my albums are in order and I generally try to scrap in chronological order, but last night I decided I could go out of order. I think all the pictures from one year will be in one album, but not in order and for some reason, this makes me happy and more excited to scrap than I have been in along time! So here is one of the pages that I did last night, it is part of a two page layout, but I didn't photograph the other page. And this picture didn't take well, but it is what it is. The bow on the upper right corner is the same one that Little Bit is wearing in her hair. A simple page, but I love it and I love my girls!

Two posts in one day?
It's unheard of, but I just had to share! I will say it once again, I LOVE THIS SET! These little animals are just so fun and I didn't even get started on the fun sayings in this set yet... I can only imagine the fun from there. I still have lots of fun things to do in my head, but one thing at a time! I made this cute little tin for a friend who is having a baby, actually twins. I wanted her to have something to keep things in, and also remember important milestones. I asked my sister-in-law what some of her favortie gifts were (she just had twins) and this was one of them...I took the idea and ran with it. You can see inside the tin are cards that she can write about the different milestones in her babies lives. This is for the boy and I'm planning to do another one with pink for the little girl. Christina, if you look at this before next week, act surprised! I also used shrinky dinks on a few of the animals, the last picture shows the difference in size! On one of the giraffes I used a peice of brown fiber to give him a furry mane - you can see it in the fourth picture. Have a great day and enjoy the Safari if you are playing and if you aren't - get started! This cute set could be yours!
Supplies: LAD Born to be wild, SU Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery, hardware and assorted ribbons andbuttons.

Kangaroo Farm
trying to convince Little Bit it was ok to pet the walaroo (look at all that mud!)

Yesterday we visited a kangroo farm with darring young mom (see side bar link) and another friend. It was a lot of fun! Little Dude was a little scared to touch the animals I finally got her to do it, but she wouldn't even think of feeding them. Little Bit was a bit more daring until her sister yelled at her not to, which was unfortunate - I think she would have liked it. The highlight of the trip was holding the baby kangaroo, we all loved it. If you get a chance, visit the Outback Kangaroo Farm in Arlington, - oh and wear boots no matter the weather!

thank you
this is one of my favorite color combos right now, I don't get to use it often on my scrapbook layouts, so I've been trying to incorporate it into more cards. I forgot to take a photo of the inside of the card, the "thank you" is acutally on the inside of the card. I punched the oval out of the card front and then stamped in on white cs, punched that with an oval and then layered it on top of a larger pumpkin oval. I love little windows! I punched the blue flower out with the boho blossoms punch.
Supplies: all are Stampin' Up - blue bayou designer print paper and ink, boho backgrounds stamp set, pumpkin ribbon and ink, oval punches and scallop circle punch, boho blossom punch

ugh...
Have you ever tried to get your 5 year old to pee in a cup or the "hat" at the dr's office. It isn't fun. After more than 10 minutes of screaming (her, not me) and tears from both of us and me giving up and ready to go tell the nurse it wasn't going to happen, she finally agreed to the "hat". It wasn't fun. She loves her dr, but she today wouldn't even look at her. Today has been a rough day for her, being on vaction with grandparents who adore her and relatives who loved to see her was so fun - back to reality at home, sometimes isn't so fun. Waking up at 7:30 to go to school has been rough the past two days, getting out of a routine for her is a hard thing, and much harder is coming back to that routine. I don't think I've been told that I'm hated so much in one day...I hope I'm not the only parent whose child tells them that. She would never dare say that to her dad, so why me? Or even in front of her dad. Today though, it didn't make me mad when she was so out of control, just wondering how to help her learn to control those emotions. ok enough of that. oh - a funny thing, what changed her mood? John Deer Green from Joe Diffie -- thanks PawPaw!
I'm working on some fun projects that I hope to finish soon...stay tuned. Oh, and vote tonight for American Idol...whose your favorite?

Lizzie Anne Design Challenge
Here is a card for yesterday's sketch challenge on Lizzie Anne. The twist was to use circles, I forgot about this until I was almost done with the card, but I had included circles already. I'm happy with this card - I like how the circles came together in the different colors on the white strip of paper. I wasn't sure how that would work, but I love it.
Supplies : LAD Petite Phrases, In the Background, Dreaming of Dots, SU Rose Romance, Apricot, Celery, Going Grey, Mauve Mist Ink and Cardstock and Celery Ribbon

more baby
I just love this card! I love the colors in it and I just love that baby carriage! It is one of the first things I reach for when I'm making a baby card. I also love to give new mom's a "mommy journal," I think it is different than the usual gift and I hope the moms appreciate it and it will help them remember all the little moments! Now to make one for myself! Have a great day!

Better late than never...
Yummy cupcakes and candy to be eaten at the egg hunt!
She walked by so many eggs, before picking up the ones she wanted.
She walked by so many eggs, before picking up the ones she wanted.
I'm finally sharing some pictures from Easter. dyeing eggs with marmar and an easter egg hunt at a friend's house. We managed to get the hunt in bewtween showers of rain. The girls had a lot of fun doing both. I have no Easter Sunday pictures because they were both sick that day and stayed home...one day i'll get them both in their easter dresses for some pictures. We've had such crazy weather lately, it doesn't feel much like spring. Hail, thunder and snow yesterday. The girls loved it though, they thought it was great and wanted to play outside in it. Have a great day!
