There are so many more things I want to make for Easter this year! I think most will have to wait until next year, the only thing that I know for sure I will make is a skirt for my daughter...although i'm still trying to figure out how to make that one. She is 6 and I don't want it to look too little girl-ish. But then again she is only 6 and is still a little girl!!!!

YIPEE!
I have been working on this quilt all week. It is the first quilt that I have finished completely on my own! Yeah me! well - to be honest, I had a little help laying out those first couple of rows, but I love the meinki (how in the world do you spell that????) on it and the velvety ric-rak. so fun! I did a loopy - stippling type quilting all over except on the minki and one patch of really soft fleece. I started this last fall and witht the holidays and a hand injury, it has been put to the side. and then i was just scared to start it - what if i messed it up, but I found that I don't think you can mess up stippling! I do think it will be a while before I tackle another project of this size. i much prefer the smaller table runner ish size!

apples

I love this apple...I love that it is two sided...I love the little flowers on it...I love green apples (granny smith's) and Fuji apples. What is your favorite kind of apple? My girls love yellow apples. I love apples with peanut butter and granny smiths sprinkled with salt. Hmm...I think I need to go eat an apple.

one item off the list

My sis-in-law makes the cutest skirts.. she showed me how to make one while I was visiting her and well, now that I'm home, I've forgotten. She cut all the peices while I was there and this is what I ended up with. I left out a couple of peices because I couldn't remember how to attach them. So this is a picture of the back, cause that bow is just so darn cute! I think this will be for Easter, not the typical Easter dress, but oh so cute! I'm on the hunt for cute little leggings and a shirt/sweater to go with it.

what I've been up to. . .
I've been bitten by the sewing bug... I have a lot of projects started, but this is the only one that is finished. Staying at my sister-in-laws house while we were in CA made me want make my house cuter. Her house is SOOOO stinkin' CUTE! Every single room is cute and so put together! So I'm on a mission... this is where i started. I have had this fabric for a over a year, waiting to make a bag out of it. Anyway, I decided to make a wall hanging out of it. I used a pattern from Modabakeshop. I love it!!!! This hangs above my piano that has been bare since we moved in - over 5 years ago. Next up, I'm using some coordinating fabric for a window cornice board.

Two TeaCups

I wanted to go with a different layout --i'm starting to feel like my cards are all looking a bit the same, so I've been on the lookout for elements that I like from the world around me. I love getting inspiration from completely random palces! I try to use sketches, but I always seem to take a turn somewhere in the process and my card looks not quite like the sketch, but I am trying to do more sketches. Lizzie Anne's Monday challenges are a good place to start! I followed a sketch on this card, but I'm not sure where I got it from, I didn't write it down when i copied the sketch....I'm thinking maybe Meridith's blog.....Meredith - is this your layout?
