my dad made this cake just about every year for Easter growing up.i was so excited get the mold (finally) and make it for my girls. last year was the first year I tried it and well - it fell apart - i don't think it even made it out of the pan - just straight to the garbage. this year i used the "right" cake, and well i was leery just taking it out of the oven - it was sooooo heavy, but pound cakes aren't light right? i knew i should have made an alternative dessert when the front legs stuck in the pan - i should have stopped there and done something else. but nooooooo, i had to keep going, i glued them back on with frosting and began decorating the bunny. i started with a star tip or what was supposed to be a star tip - but it was more square and chunky and well, it didn't look good. so i smooshed the frosting and gave the bunny fluff. not horrible for my first try, but well - i think my dad needs to join us for Easter next year so he can make the cake! this one ended up in the garbage...need i say more? the eggs around the base are from bakerella only shaped into eggs instead of little animals or put on sticks. they were ok - not as good as usual. so it was a really good thing miss R brought a pie to share for dessert even thought Rob didn't' want to share. thanks for sharing!
