Can you guess?

Can you guess where we've been? We decided surprise our girls with a trip to CA to see their cousin and to go to Disneyland. I thought this was a clever take on the spinning teacup ride...but my hubby didn't get it when I showed him the card. I made it the day after we decided to go...

This all started with the tangerine tango ribbon by SU...I've tried to stay away from the SU In Colors because then I end up really liking them and then they go away.... but I just love this tangerine! Pumpkin has long been a favorite, so it's no surprise that I like the tangerine. The teapot and sentiment are from LAD Tea Time...

the best thing ever!

not a crafty post, but this allows me a little more time for craft-i-ness and I just had to share. I heard about dinner co-ops from my sis-in-law. I talked to a few friends near me with the same size family that I have and we started off last week. Let me tell you - it has been the best thing I think I've ever decided to do! (ok - well maybe not best - but right up there). A couple of them have done them before and i have to say I was a little upset they didn't share the scoop and get one started a little sooner. Here is how it works... we have a group of four families, so on Monday night, Family A makes and brings dinner to all four families. Family B on Tuesday, Family C on Wednesday and Family D (that is me) on Thursday. Not only does this save me time - it saves me $$$. I'm buying a large amount of food for one meal...not small amounts of lots of different things. So far, the food has been scrumptious - I have no doubt it will continue to be. We made a menu for the whole month, so I know what is coming and can make a side to go with it. We are only making a main meal for each other. I have changed my meal for last week, not feeling the dish I had decided to make- and everyone was cool with that. Yes my girls haven't been huge fans of everything we've gotten, (but I have) and they can't be picky eaters at my house. I have never made them a separate meal from what I make, and I don't plan to start now. They always try it and we go from there. This has seriously saved my family from eating out twice (and that is just in two weeks) and so that saves me $$ as well. We try not to eat out often, and this has really helped. Plus we always have leftovers for lunch and sometimes dinner over the weekend.

i {heart} you

I love that sentiment. It is in the LAD So Much Love set. I've been trying to make a masculine Valentine's Day card. Does this cut it?

Check out her blog too - she has some super cute fun things on there!

A pink School Girl

When I first saw this set (LAD School days), I thought this little girl made such a cute "uniformed" school girl...and then I picked up this paper. I thought it was a perfect match for my little school girl who always wears a dress. Perhaps a v-day card for her or just a because I love you card. I cut the flower out of the paper and popped it up on a pop dot. the "you rock my world" is from the set too---i think to be used with the globe - but this just shows how you can use it in so many ways! Oh and her lunch box, headband and the flower are all covered in pink Shimmerz.

a little give away

Here's to you Emilee!

okay so the first 5 people to respond to thispost will receive something made by me to you.my choice. made especially for you.
of course there are some restrictions and limitations:1 i make no guarantees that you will like what i make!2 what i create will be just for you.3 it will be done sometime this year.4 you have no clue what it will be... it may be a story. it may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. i may draw or paint something. i may bake something and mail it to you. who knows? not you, thats for sure.5 i reserve the right to do something extremely strange.
the catch? oh the catch is that you must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog.the first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!! oh and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it!!

free stuff!

no picture today, although I was crafty... I made each of my girls a fun little dress. They love them and put them on as soon as I finished them. I LOVE having little girls! Speaking of love, Lizzie Anne is giving away some LOVE....stamp-related love that is. Check out the LAD blog for the details.

a little valentine's day decoration

I saw something similar to this in a magazine, but I don't remember which magazine! They had a happy birthday banner with ice cream cones (I can see one with cupcakes in my future), a valentine's banner and one other one and I combined all the ideas into this one. I've made similar thing sin the past, but on a smaller scale. I used "So Much Love" from LAD for the majority of the images. I used a couple from Jolie Fleurs and L'Amour to round it out. I think my favotie letter is the O withthe vase of flowers. They were a little on the tough side to cut out and keep them attached to the vase. I also love those little love birds, I don't particularly like birds, but I love these two little ones. I have another one that I'm working on today... stay tuned!

Tea Time

So this card started out following a sketch, but well the only thing that resembles that sketch is the ribbons, so I guess you could say I was inspired by the other card! This image is from LAD Tea Time, a new release. I added the black puffy flower to the tea cup for some dimension. I really lke the contrast of the black and white with just one color. I inked all the edges for a shabby chic feel....
