I've been crafty - but mostly stuff for presents and I can't share yet or forget to take pictures and have already sent them off! So, I thought I'd share a couple pics from pie breakfast this year... I was in heaven! I took a key lime, a turtle cheesecake, and a cherry - with cherries I picked, pitted and canned this past summer. There was also lemon meringue, blueberry, strawberry, a chocolate one just to name a few... I was too full for dinner that afternoon! One of the best Turkey day traditions EVER!

Pie for breakfast?
I made this card in honor of my friend Tiffany - her family hosts a Thanksgiving Pie Breakfast on Thanksgiving morning. Sure there is pie after dinner, but this way you can really enjoy the pie without being stuffed from the meal! What a great idea! She said her mom once made something like 15 pies! (or something like that!) just about any kind you can imagine! mmmmm - I've started making my list of pies I want for thanksgiving this year -- we definitely will be borrowing her tradition! Pumpkin, Apple, Marion berry, perhaps a chocolate cream pie or maybe a lemon cream or meringue....this list could go on and on.... What is your favorite pie?

Happy October!
I love the Little people from LAD - the witch is one of my favs! I made this simple little basket for my daughter's teacher for Halloween. I plan to fill it with a caramel corn mix. Adding the rhinestones gave it just the right touch of bling! and of course you can't go wrong with ribbons! Check out LAD's project of the month page for more details on how to make it!

blank cards?
Do ou have a lot of blank cards? I do, I like them because when I need a card, I can reach for the balnk stack, find the perfect one, add a sentiment and I'm good to go. I like to have a few on hand with the usual sentiments, but this card has so many possibilities that I didn't want to decide when I made which sentiment to use. I used a card sketch to make this card, but of course I don't remember where I found it! The paper is from Sweet Slumber pack from SU and the owl is from LAD, The Great Outdoors.

One Sheet Wonder
It's been a while since I've done a one sheet wonder, but I've been trying to do them more lately. You can get so many cards from just one peice of paper. And they can look so different if you use double sided paper. For my stamp club this month, (actually all year) we are doing one sheet wonders. Since this is the first class, I wanted to stay on the simple side, it was easier than I thought it would be to come up with a OSW on my own. I just started cutting and numbering, so it will be easy to re-create. I used 5 sheets of white CS for my card cases, 1 sheet 12 x 12 for the main backgrounds and then scraps from 4 coordinating colors to fill in the empty spaces and do the accents. Not bad for 10 cards. These are very simple, basic cards and for those who want, it is easy to add extra layers and embellishments.

simply thanks....
I'm always in need of thank you cards and I like to have a stash on hand. This is a very simple card to mass produce. the "simply thanks" is from the Sept Monthly Mix, Something to Crow About. It comes as one image in the set. I stamped it once in black and cut out the "simply" and then stamped it in Celery and cut out each letter to make it have more of an impact. A simple black ribbon and bow across the bottom finish it off nicely.

Sunflower
I made this card in honor of my GIANT sunflower we planted this year. We had no idea if it would even grow - 5 of the 6 we planted didn't survive the tranplanting in the spring. But this one - it has done very well. I will have to take a picture of it - it is as tall as our house. Crazy! This is a tri-fold card and of course - I love the dots! Have a wonderful weekend!

mixin' it up again
I love this tree - it's from the Sept Monthly Mix - Something to Crow About. It's so versitile and I just love that you could use it for any holiday or occasion. I also love this paper - I've again been trying to use up the scraps leftover from big projects. I can never seem to use them all up! But that's ok when it's one of my fav - I just love the grren strip across this card.

Ruffles
I wanted to share a pillow that I made to go with this quilt. Ruffles are everywhere and I thought it would be a cute additiont o her bed - a couple more are in the works. I used a serger on the blue strips of fabric and just zigzaged the pink fabric. I was a lot of fun to make this and soooo easy!

new monthly mix!
I am loving this new monthly mix from Lizzie Anne - it has so many great images! This rooster was especially fun - a couple months ago I picked up some chicken/rooster kitchen themed paper and embellishements - perfect for this stamp. I love the chicken wire paper that doesn't scream chicken wire. if you haven't signed up yet, do it now! you won't be disappointed!

A Winner
This is one of the singles that was released on August 1 - along with the football player. I wanted to do something a little different with the sentiment, I even wanted to make it girly. I love how it turned out. The background paper has lots of sparkles on it along with the flower. And this is becoming one of my favorite color combos!

Mix it up!
I am loving the Monthly Mix stamps from LAD - such a great assortment of useful stamps and you know how am I about it must be useful. I love this little bird and the colors are a bit of a departure from the norm for me - this paper is one of my favorites. I wanted to pull the brighter colors from it and the buttons helped to pull it all together. I'm finally using my 'stash' of favorite ribbon. It must be used in order to buy more! At least that is what I keep telling myself so that I will use it!

Best Wishes
When I first saw the football player, I knew I wanted to do something with him and the cheerleader - so I made a Best Wishes card. I think it woudl be great for an engagment card or a wedding card. Her pompoms have a bit of sparkle shimmery paint and his helmet got a touch of shimmerz. After all, a wedding cards needs some bling!

Sneak Peak #3
Today is the final day of the sneaks peaks! My first card showcases Oh Christmas Tree, I love this set (have I said that before) I used the tree you see as the main image in white for my background paper as well, stamping it in Kiwi on white paper. The second card, is from Love and Joy Labels - so perfect for all those upcoming Christmas and Holiday gifts you'll be making! Again I stamped the background (red) with a versamark ink to give a bit something more. I hope you enjoyed the sneak peaks! Tomorrow everything will be on sale!

So FUN!!!!
I got the new Monthly Mix from Lizzie Anne in the mail today and couldn't wait to ink it up! There were so many choices! It fills up two cases! First up is the owl in the tree - I just love this little guy! I also love to make my animals a color other than what is expected.
This card is a pocket card - great for a birthday gift card or really any reason for gift giving. The gift card can go in the pocket and I can add a sentiment across the bottom when I'm ready to use it.
Go to Lizzie Anne to get all the details on the Monthly Mix and see how you can get it for just $25!

July Single
It looks pretty plain - huh? but it's for my girls. Everytime I am at my table stamping - they ask me to stamp them something - usually it is one of the little people from LAD. So I made them a box full of stamped images for them to color. (Did you see the cute new cheerleader? - LOVE her!) Now i can just hand them one - or maybe even give them the whole box!!!!

Summer fun kit
Stir sticks - also help remember whose glass is whose
Close up of hand sanitizer bottle
I was up for the Project of the Month for LAD today - I decided to make a Summer Fun Kit - the possibilities are endless! I put a popsicle kit in mine along with a water bottle and drink mix pouch, hand sanitizer, spray on sunscreen, chapstick ( i got the idea for this here, changed up the dimensions and such) drink stir sticks, and a card (include a fun popsicle recipe in here). What a fun little gift for someone or just to have all together in one spot of your house - you summer fun kit!
Starting today is Lizzie Anne's Anniversary Celebration - lasting through the 14th. Great things are in store this month! Everyday a different set will be spotlighted and on sale - so be sure to check it daily to stock up on all the great sets!
Here's a few more popsicle recipes:
Watermelon Popsicles
2 cups watermelon cubed remove seeds
1 cup apple juice
Blend in blender until smooth. Pour into Popsicle molds and freeze.
Multi Layer Fruit Pops
2 Cups sliced fresh strawberries
¾ Cup sugar, divided
1 1/3 Cups fresh peaches, sliced
2 cups diced watermelon
Puree in blender strawberries and ¼ cup sugar. Pour small amount in molds or paper cups about 1/3 full. Put in Popsicle sticks. Freeze. Puree peaches and ¼ cup sugar in blender. Pour over frozen strawberry layer. Freeze. Cube watermelon and remove seeds. Puree watermelon and ¼ cup sugar in blender. Pour over frozen peach layer and freeze.
This one would be fun to alternate fruit and yogurt or ice cream layers!

It's Summer time!
Monday, June 29, 2009
I copied an idea I saw on Meridith's blog forever ago... I think it might have been a Valentine's Day card - but she used several different sentiments and stamped them all over her focal panel with different inks. I love it so much and so - here is my rendition using Everyday Sayings. I also used SU's new in color ribbon - I just LOVE the polka dots and the new color of Bermuda Bay. It looks so different to me in person than it does in the catalog!
